On November 6, 2026, Juozas Kaziukėnas shared on LinkedIn a screenshot of a ChatGPT screen titled "Claim your business in ChatGPT." According to him, OpenAI is building a tool that would show a business how often ChatGPT mentions it and how many clicks lead to its website. OpenAI has confirmed nothing: as of November 6, 2026, this is a rumour. We are eager to see whether it holds up.

What was seen

ChatGPT is building an analytics tool to "track how often your business is mentioned in ChatGPT conversations."

Screenshot of the “Claim your business in ChatGPT” screen, marked “unreleased/beta,” with three cards: see how your business shows up, show customers what you offer, help customers make decisions.

The screenshot is labelled "unreleased/beta." The screen offers a business three things: see how often it is mentioned in ChatGPT conversations, add its latest products to keep its information up to date, and let a "business agent" answer customer questions with information the business controls. You would first need to prove that you are authorized to represent the business.

According to the post, the analytics would count two things each day: impressions (the number of times the business appears in a response) and clicks to its website. They would show neither the prompts, nor user data, nor any comparison with competitors. The tool would be part of a broader feature called "Business Hub." It would be limited to businesses that have verified ownership, for example by connecting their Shopify store. Juozas Kaziukėnas says he first saw early traces of this work in August. Since the banner appeared on November 6, the tool seems close to launch to him.

Why we call it a rumour

  • A single original source. Everything comes from Juozas Kaziukėnas's post. Barry Schwartz picked it up on November 6 in Search Engine Roundtable, then in Search Engine Land, with no other source. Search Engine Land notes that the tool is not live yet.
  • No announcement from OpenAI. As of November 6, 2026, OpenAI has published no announcement, help page or comment about this tool.
  • A screen that has not launched. The screenshot itself says "unreleased." Nothing indicates when the tool would arrive, in which countries, or whether it would be offered in Canada or in French.

What it would change if confirmed

Today, no free source shows what ChatGPT says about a business. Bing Webmaster Tools covers Copilot and Search Console covers Google's surfaces: neither sees ChatGPT, as we explain in our comparison of AI visibility measurement tools. A tool from OpenAI would provide first-party numbers on ChatGPT, much like Search Console does for Google.

Based on the description, it would also have limits. Without the prompts, it would tell you how often you appear, not why. Tools that replay prompts would therefore remain useful for understanding what makes a brand rise or fall.

The information side matters as much as the numbers. If a business can correct its products and information inside ChatGPT, it will have more control over what the AI tells its customers.

What this means for you

What to do until an official announcement

  • Measure visits from ChatGPT. In GA4, track the chatgpt.com source. Keep in mind the October 2026 bug that classified some of these visits as direct traffic.
  • Set your baseline. Each month, replay the same set of questions your customers ask ChatGPT. You will have a basis for comparison if the tool arrives.
  • Keep your public information up to date. Hours, products, prices and return policies: this is what the tool would let you correct. It is also what ChatGPT already reads on your website.
  • Check your access. The tool would require proof that you represent the business. Make sure you keep access to your domain and your online store yourself.

Key takeaway

A screenshot shared on LinkedIn on November 6, 2026 shows a ChatGPT tool that would count a business's mentions and clicks. OpenAI has not confirmed it and the screen is labelled "unreleased." We will update this note as soon as OpenAI says more.

The steps that already matter, with or without this tool, are in How to improve your business's AI visibility.
