Measurement and data
Google Tag Manager consultant and server-side tracking
A container inherited from several vendors, tags nobody dares to remove, conversions counted twice: as your Google Tag Manager consultant, our agency puts things back in order, documents every setting and adds server-side tracking when your volume justifies it.

In your container
What our work in Tag Manager includes
The tagging plan. The list of events that matter to your business (purchases, leads, calls, appointments), with their names and parameters. It is written before the first tag and serves as a reference for your team.
Cleaning up an inherited container. Duplicate tags, dead triggers, pixels from vendors that are long gone: removed after verification, with a version saved at each step.
Sales and lead events. For a store: GA4 purchase events, with the value and without duplicates (on Shopify, based on the platform's customer events). For a business that runs on leads: forms, phone clicks and appointment bookings.
Consent, connected. Tags respect the visitor's choice: Google Consent Mode set up, non-Google tools blocked until the visitor says yes. See Law 25 and your website.
Enhanced conversions. An enhanced conversion: an email address provided by the person is turned into an unreadable fingerprint, then sent to Google Ads to link a sale to a click that standard measurement would have lost, with the visitor's consent.
Server-side tracking
Server-side tracking, when it is justified
Server-side tracking routes data through a server you control, hosted with Stape or on Google Cloud, before sending it to Google, Meta or elsewhere. It makes transmission more reliable, gives you control over what leaves your site and can lighten page loading. It also lets you send sales data from your management system, for example through the Meta Conversions API.
It does not recover any data a visitor has refused: a refusal remains a refusal. It also has a yearly cost (hosting, maintenance, monitoring). It mostly benefits online stores and large advertising budgets, where every poorly transmitted purchase skews bidding.
The full calculation, costs included, is in our article Server-side tagging: benefits, limitations and costs.
Our method
A container your team understands
Reviewing the container and the site
Every tag, every trigger and every variable, compared with what the site actually does and what your platforms receive.
The approved tagging plan
We present the events, their names and their destinations. Nothing is installed before you approve it.
Tested setup
The work is done in a separate workspace, checked in preview mode, then published in a named version.
The documentation handed over
Every tag, its role and its trigger, written in a document your team keeps.

Definition
What is Google Tag Manager?
Google Tag Manager is Google's free tool for managing a site's tags (GA4, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and others) from a single container, without changing the code for each addition. The web container runs in the visitor's browser; the server container runs on a server you control.

Frequently asked questions
Can you take over a container set up by another agency?+
Yes, it is the most common case. We review every tag, remove what is no longer used after verification and save a version at each step. Nothing disappears without a trace.
Do we need Google Tag Manager if our store is on Shopify?+
Not always. Shopify handles part of the tracking through its own customer events and its apps. Tag Manager becomes useful when you feed several platforms or want precise control over what is sent.
Does server-side tracking recover visitors who refuse cookies?+
No. A refusal remains a refusal, wherever the tags run. Server-side tracking makes the transmission of consented data more reliable and gives you control over what leaves your site.
Will our team still be able to add tags?+
Yes. That is exactly what the tagging plan and the documentation are for: your team knows what exists, how it is named and how to add a tag without breaking the rest.
How long does the setup take?+
It depends on the number of events, the platforms to feed and the state of the current container. We give you the timeline after the audit, before the work begins.
