Definition

What is Google Ads?

Google Ads is Google's advertising platform. You buy visibility at the exact moment your customers are searching: at the top of the results, on YouTube, in Gmail, or on the Display network. You pay per click. Well structured, it is a considerable revenue engine.

The useful distinction

A Google Ads agency manages and optimizes those campaigns for you. Google Ads covers the paid portion of Google. SEO, on the other hand, aims at the organic results, with no cost per click. What some agencies call SEA, an acronym used mostly in France, is exactly what this page is about: in Quebec, people say “paid search” or simply “Google Ads”.

Google Ads (paid / SEA): bought visibility, immediate, per click.

SEO (organic) and GEO (AI): organic traffic on Google and recommendations from ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, with no cost per click, but built over time.

A concrete marker

When you type “accountant Trois-Rivières” and the first results say “Sponsored”, that is Google Ads.

Why Google Ads

Bet on the most profitable channel to grow your sales

Google Ads is not only there to generate traffic. Well managed, it puts you in front of people who are already searching for what you sell, at the moment they are ready to buy. That is what makes it one of the most profitable channels when buying intent is high.

We aim for leads, sales and a lower cost per result. Every campaign is built around a business goal rather than a dashboard. We look at impressions, but after gross margin.

Anyone can create a campaign. Making $100,000 of it pay off is a trade.

1/12

Close to one ad click in twelve does not come from a real customer. On Google's automated inventory, the proportion climbs higher still.

Lunio · 2026 global invalid traffic report · 2.7 billion clicks analyzed

The bigger the budget, the more the leak costs. Broad match, Performance Max and Smart Bidding left to themselves spend fast, but not always where they should. Our job is to steer the automation towards your real revenue and cut what does not convert before it drains the budget.

What changes in 2026

Automation works for us, not the other way around.

In 2026, Google is pushing hard towards Performance Max and artificial intelligence (AI Max, smart bidding). Closely supervised by senior experts, those tools are very powerful. Left alone, they optimize what Google wants rather than what keeps your business alive. We give the algorithm your real conversion data (CRM, real sales) so it finds buyers rather than the curious.

−25%

The expected drop in the volume of traditional searches by 2026, to the benefit of AI agents and generated answers.

Gartner · 2024

In practice: every paid dollar has to be managed better, and you also have to be visible in the AI engines' answers as much as in the blue links. That is our area of expertise. We keep our hands on the settings Google would rather put on autopilot, and we optimize for final profitability.

How we work

A limited number of engagements, both partners on each one

We take at most sixteen growth engagements at a time and one client per industry, to guarantee a higher level of attention. The two partners are the ones who build your campaigns, run them and talk to you directly.

That is what lets us hold a tight cost of acquisition on large budgets and react without delay when an account goes off course.

One client per industry. When we work for you, your industry is reserved for you.

The formats

Every Google Ads format, chosen for your sales

Search

Capturing intent at the moment your customer searches for your product or service. The base of almost every profitable strategy.

Shopping

Putting your eCommerce products in front of buyers who are comparing. It depends on a clean Merchant Center feed.

Performance Max

Google's automation across the whole network, supervised by our strategists to serve your revenue before the algorithm's.

Display

Extending reach and staying present with your audience, with visuals that respect your brand.

Google is closing the creation of standalone Display campaigns in January 2027 and folding the inventory into Demand Gen. The network is not disappearing: it becomes a placement you can still target on its own. The accounts we manage are migrated by our team, before Google does it for us.

YouTube

Capturing attention with video, building awareness and supporting conversion.

Demand Gen

Creating and capturing demand on YouTube, Discover and Gmail, upstream of active search.

Remarketing

Coming back to the people who have already visited your site, at the right moment, without wasting impressions.

The note

The choice of format depends on your business goal and your budget. We launch only what pays.

The mechanism

The highest bidder does not win the auction.

Google ranks ads on a score that combines your bid and the quality of what you offer. A better-made ad can therefore move ahead of one that pays more, and pay less per click. It is the one place in the account where work turns directly into savings.

Ad rank

Google calculates a rank from three things: what you are willing to pay, the estimated quality of your ad and its landing page, and the context of the search, meaning the device, the place and the moment.

What you actually pay is not your bid: it is the minimum it took to beat the next ad. A good quality score therefore lowers the bill at equal position, it does not only raise the rank.

What raises the quality score

Three things, in this order of importance.

  1. 01The match between the keyword bought and the text of the ad.
  2. 02The expected click-through rate, estimated from the keyword's history.
  3. 03The landing page: its relevance to the query, its speed, its ability to convert.

It is the least visible setting in an account and the most profitable. It shows in no spending report, and it changes the margin on every keyword at once.

Data and measurement

Without clean measurement, you are flying blind.

Analysis and measurement are part of every engagement, and we do them in house, with heavy use of AI. A partner answers for them.

Conversion tracking that tells a real sale from a simple click.

Measurement that ties spend to sales and to cost per lead, beyond traffic.

Decisions made on reliable business data rather than on Google's default recommendations.

Our method

How our strategists run your campaigns

1

We audit profitability. Your margins, your target cost of acquisition, before we even touch a bid.

2

We structure to sell. The choice of formats (Search, Shopping, Demand Gen), of audiences and above all of exclusions.

3

We set up advanced measurement. Tracking of real conversions, CRM integration so the AI bids on the customers who sign.

4

We launch and we supervise. We steer the automation and cut the waste immediately.

5

We optimize continuously. Adjusting bids, messages and audiences, according to what actually converts.

We optimize as one system. If a campaign does not convert because of the page, we optimize the page (CRO). The goal is overall revenue.

Frequently asked

Your questions about Google Ads

How much does a Google Ads campaign cost with your agency?

There is the advertising budget (paid to Google) and our fixed management fee (never a percentage of the spend). Our fee is set by media budget tiers known in advance, from $1,195 a month. We set the amount after a first call, once we understand your situation.

How long before we see results?

Unlike SEO, Google Ads gives fast results: the first conversions often arrive within the first weeks. Profitability builds over a few optimization cycles, the time it takes to cut the waste and concentrate the budget on what converts.

Do you manage eCommerce accounts with a large catalogue?

Yes. Shopping and Performance Max, built on a well-structured Merchant Center feed, are at the heart of what we do to maximize online retail revenue.

Should we use Performance Max?

Yes, with close supervision. Left alone, it serves Google first. With our tags, our exclusions and clean CRM measurement, it becomes a real sales tool.

Do I keep control of my account?

Yes, always. The account belongs to you. We access it to run it, and you remain its owner, 100%.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. The engagement renews month to month. You stay because the campaigns pay off, not because a contract forces you to.

How do you measure success?

In leads, in sales and in cost per acquisition. Traffic and click-through rate stay secondary indicators if they lead nowhere. What counts is what the campaign brings to your business.

Do you work everywhere in Quebec?

We are based in Montreal and in the Laurentians, and we work with companies everywhere in Quebec.

What belongs to you

The Google Ads account stays yours, even when you leave.

It is the most concrete objection in the market, and it deserves an answer spelled out in full. Here is ours, written in advance.

01

The account is opened in your name, under your billing. We access it through manager access, and you remain its owner.

02

The history leaves with you. Campaigns, conversions, bidding learning, audience lists: it is your asset, and it is what has the most value after two years. We remove our access, nothing else.

03

The measurement belongs to you too. Google Tag Manager, GA4 and the conversions are set up in your own accounts, and they stay there.

04

The fee is separate from the media budget. You pay Google directly for your clicks, and Falia for the management. Two invoices, two amounts, no commission on the spend.

05

Our fee does not follow your spend. A percentage would rise every time the budget rises, whether sales follow or not. Our fee is fixed inside each tier, from $1,195 a month.

06

A senior expert manages the account day to day, with the team that works with them. They are the one who answers when the cost per lead goes up.

The account audit

We look at your account before we propose anything.

A Google Ads account can be read in one session when you know where to look. Here is what we check, and what you receive.

Where the budget goes

The search terms actually paid for, the off-topic queries, the campaigns that consume without converting and the share taken by automation.

Whether the measurement holds

Duplicated conversions, actions with no value, consent wired wrong. An account optimized on faulty measurement improves on paper and not in your gross margin.

What it should cost

The current cost per lead, the one we estimate is reachable and the gap between the two. That figure is what says whether an engagement is worth it, or not.

You leave with the findings in writing, executable by your current team. If the account is already well kept, we will tell you that too. Ask for an audit of your account.

What if we looked at your account together?

A call to understand your revenue goals, your budget and where the current waste sits. A working session rather than a generic presentation: we open the hood.
